Every Child Deserves A Good Start!
BackPACK 2 School is a Seaway Mall initiative to help less fortunate children and their families have an equal start to the school year. With the current challenges being faced by our community due to Covid19 that need is even greater this year. We would like to provide children with school supplies and protection for this coming school year. Help us fill our bus!
How Can You Help?
Purchase School supplies between now and August 27th and donate them at the bus display next to Customer Service. School supplies most in need this year are lunch pails and reusable water bottles, over the ear headphones, reusable face masks and sanitizer, but pens, pencils, notebooks and even gift cards are also appreciated. Every donation counts!

Reason Behind the Campaign
The proceeds will benefit the YWCA of Niagara, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter, food and assistance to women and families in poverty. In past years we have also worked together with the YWCA of Niagara to raise awareness about homelessness in Niagara. This year, Staples Welland has already contributed a large volume of back packs and school supplies to the campaign, but more items are still needed.
“Even before COVID-19, back to school supplies have been a financial barrier for families experiencing homelessness or poverty,” said Grace Howes, Community and Public Relations Coordinator for the YWCA of Niagara. “Now, more than ever, these donations are setting Niagara’s children and youth up for success whether they`re learning at home or in the classroom.”
When something as simple as not having a lunch box could single out kids in a bad economic situation, we can all help make a difference – and help keep them safe!
