The Spring it Forward Food Drive is happening at Seaway Mall Centre Court the week of April 28 – May 3, 2025. New this year, Purolator Tackle Hunger is partnering with the Spring it Forward Food Drive hosted by Seaway Mall to hand out 6,000 Red Bags to be filled with food in support of food banks in Welland.
Purolator Tackle Hunger bags will be distributed across Welland the week before the food drive, ready to be filled with food and returned to Seaway Mall Centre Court during the week of April 28 – May 3 or dropped off on the Drive-Thru donation day in the front parking lot at Seaway Mall on Saturday May 3.
Hunger should never be a kid problem, yet 1 in 3 Canadians who rely on food banks are children. By filling the Purolator Red Bag, you can help us Tackle Hunger and stock the shelves of food banks—The Hope Centre, Open Arms Mission and Holy Trinity Outreach—that are helping to feed children in Welland.
About the Spring It Forward Food Drive
In 2023, the Spring it Forward Food Drive started as an idea to invite the Welland community to come together to raise awareness about food insecurity. The idea grew into a week-long annual food drive hosted at the Seaway Mall and together, with the support of Elevate Living, we raised over $60,000 in funds and collected over 10,000 pounds of food and hygiene items to stock food bank shelves in Welland.
How Do I Get Involved?
A total of 6,000 Purolator Tackle Hunger Red Bags will be distributed across Welland the week before the food drive. Residents that receive a Purolator package will also receive a red bag, volunteers will be at local grocery stores distributing red bags and bags will be available at Seaway Mall Centre Court during the food drive.
Fill the red bag with non-perishable food and hygiene items to support Welland food banks.
- Option 1: Drop off your donation at the Seaway Mall in Centre Court between April 28 – May 3 for the Spring it Forward Food Drive.
- Option 2: Bring your filled bag to our Drive-Thru food drive at the Seaway Mall, front parking lot, on Saturday May 3 between 10 am – 3 pm
