(Welland, ON) December 27, 2019 – Three years ago, we started with a simple idea of buying a Christmas dinner for someone in need, and now we have concluded another year of Making A Meal Come True for families within our community. Each year we see consistent growth with this campaign and really appreciate how much this means to the families, giving and receiving.
The money raised this Christmas will bring both food and hope to many individuals and “working together with the community is very important to us”, Mike Belcastro President “and are looking forward to the growth of this campaign in each season!” he continued.
Christmas 2019 left us with another increase in donations. Donations were collected in-person at Customer Service for $10 per meal; by December 24th we reached 559 donations and received huge support from both the community & the tenants in the mall
On December 25th individuals gathered around at Holy Trinity Anglican Church to celebrate the holiday season with a warm meal. With donations aimed to feed families on Christmas day, “volunteers from Holy Trinity made sure patrons unable to make it to the church received a warm meal on Christmas day at their homes” said John Wellwood, Holy Trinity Church Member ending the day “a little tired but happy!” he continued. Donations also went to Open Arms Mission of Welland to give meals to the less fortunate and to help re-stock their Food Bank for the holiday season.
For this campaign we challenged all of our tenants to collect donations for the chance to win a $200.00 Seaway Mall gift card. It is our pleasure to announce that BLOCK Properties Niagara donated the largest amount toward the Make A Meal Come True Campaign.
