In honour of National Volunteer Week 2018, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Niagara, The Rose City Festival, United Way Niagara and the Seaway Mall would like to say THANK YOU all for your ongoing contributions to the community.
Thank you Scott Chambers!! You have been a Big Brother with the agency for seven years. Your consistency, genuine care, and thoughtfulness for the children you work with is an inspiration. We cannot say enough about the positive impact that our mentors have on the lives of youth in our community and Scott is one of those volunteers who truly goes above and beyond.
Thank you Alex Plopp!! you have made a measurable impact over the past 3 years, serving as both a volunteer and Coronation Ball Chair for the Welland Rose Festival. Your outstanding leadership while working with Rose Queen contestants and the Royal Court, as well as her tireless efforts to plan and coordinate the annual Coronation Ball have made her an irreplaceable asset within the organization. It is dedication of this kind and scale that has earned Alex our recognition and utmost gratitude during this year’s National Volunteer Week.
Thank you Liz Paton!! For the last five years, you have been filing tax returns for Niagara residents through the United Way Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. Her dedication to the program and the community does not go unrecognized. Liz trains new volunteers who enter the program and makes herself available to assist them should they need help. In 2017, Liz filed over 500 tax returns bringing over $1.3 million back into our community. Thank you for all of your hard work, Liz!
Thank you Leon!!! Your commitment to charities, dedication to volunteer work and sense of responsibility towards society over the past 20 years have made us believe in a better tomorrow.
