Dozens of fishing aficionados joined fishing experts JP DeRose and Derek Strub during the first seminar, Lake Erie’s World Class Smallmouth Bass Fishing at 1:00 pm, in Ernie Allen Court, as they shared their years of experience in the field. At 2:30 pm, Aldo Nava took over the stage to share his tips on Salmon and Trout fishing on Lake Ontario, finishing up with a live demo on bait preparation.
“We were thrilled to learn new fishing tactics from the pros and put them into practice this summer”, said Carissa Tirpko, organizer of the event at Seaway Mall. “It is really important for us to spend time with the community and offer free events that help us grow stronger as a society”, she explained. “We were happy to welcome and learn from Jp, Derek and Aldo, proficient fishing experts, into the mall”.
Fishing expert JP DeRose has been a host of several fishing shows over the past 10 years, his most recent series, Breaking Boundaries is entering it’s 5th season and has him taking on the massive world of fishing, looking to fill his bucket list and educate anglers along the way. Derek Strub is a past Canadian Open Champion with 30 years of professional tournament experience in Canada and the US. His claim to fame among his peers is his Great Lakes deep-water Smallmouth Bass and electronics expertise. Specializing in deep water tactics like drop-shotting, he is more at home in 50’ of water than 5’. Aldo Nava has been an avid angler since the young age of 3 years old and grew up to become one of the best Fishing Guides and Charter Captains in the Niagara Region. He has worked in the service industry for over 20 years and has almost 30 years fishing experience. His commitment to you is that he does his best to give you the greatest fishing experience possible!
Nicholls Marine annual Boat Show kicked off the Outdoor Show in Centre Court on Monday, April 9th. They have an extensive Legend boat display and have been traditionally coming to Seaway Mall for the past 30 years.
